On January 18, 2025, MSCI will host a firearms and concealed carry seminar presented by Jim Stoker, President of the FOAC-ILLEA (Firearms Owners Against Crime-Institute for Legal, Legislative and Educational Action). Some of the key topics covered are sources of law, defining firearms, when do you need a license to carry firearms, what to do when you encounter law enforcement, where you can or cannot carry, school zones, reciprocity, use of force, presumptions of threat, stand your ground, castle doctrine, liability, and what to expect if you have to use your firearm in self-defense. Mr. Stoker, a long time member of law enforcement, has been on the front lines of firearm legislation for many years. He brings not only his legislative background, but his practical experience to the table during this presentation. The seminar will begin at 9 am and last about 2-1/2 hours depending on questions. He will be presenting personally along with a small team present to help with handouts and discussion after the event.

This event is free to members, and each member is encouraged to bring non-members as their guests. After the seminar, Rob Wynkoop, Membership Director, will be on hand to sign up new members wishing to join Millvale Sportsmen’s Club. Please note that there is a $50 deposit required to be paid at sign up for new member applications.
